WATCHES
Engraving on watches is something special.. it is very time consuming, requires a lot of concentration and needs extra attention to design. What you see on zoomed in photos or what I see in the microscope is quite far from what we all see with the naked eye.. so it is a fun challenge making a design that looks good on photos (clients like that) but obviously also looks great with the naked eye. Clients like that even better.
TUDOR CASEBACK
This is the latest watch project I was working on for a client. A Tudor caseback. He already had the names of his children scratched in with a kind of mechanic engraving machine. Did not look very nice, but was what the seller could offer.
He contacted me and I got free hands with scrollwork and touching up the names. I´m quite happy with it, and so are the client.. anything better than that?
MALIN & GERT
This was originally my very first practice watch after getting proper tools. After getting my Lindsay Classic and PalmControl I felt a big jump in quality of engraving. Obviously when looking back at it today, it is not up to the quality I want to have, but it is part of my progress.
Anyway, I was never thinking to part with this watch and I actually never finished it.. until a good friend of mine which has bugging me for years about a watch, he wanted this.
So I had to finish it. It was actually a big challenge to match the style of engraving I did at the time I started this watch. I also did some 24k gold inlay on the other side of the watch with the names of my friend and lovely wife. Malin & Gert
THE KEEPER
So this is defiantly the keeper.. and be a little patient with me on this one. I´m not sure I knew what I was jumping into.. It´s only a personal now and then project and it was the 2nd watch I ever started and it will be a custom project with lots of changes.
I liked the house.. lots of space for engraving. The brand is nothing special and the reason. why I will customize the watch quite a bit.
THIS IS NOT FINISHED EDITING.
TRUE LOVE
This is my very first watch engraving ever and I think it is where I understood that motorcycle engraving wasn’t for me. But a motorcycle graver was “all” I had. Probably the best one you can get. The Lindsay Nitro and it´s nick name is “The Motorcycle Graver”
Anyway, I was practicing and practicing being super careful with my foot, and considering it was very early in my engraving career, the alloy (unknown) was very soft and I was not very good at designing, it´s not that bad..
My wife didn’t know about it before her watch was done..
